Just a little teaser but Jordan and I got together today and discussed some new forum features to boost membership participation and loyalty as well as maybe generate a little revenue and reputation for the forum... Just a hint... part of it involves free give-aways

I'll write up the "official" announcements with all the juicy details in the next couple of days Keep an eye out for the announcements... it's soooo exciting

THE WAIT IS OVER!!! OK I think I've made everyone wait long enough to build the curiosity and excitement for the 2 new features we're planning on adding to help generate some revenue for the forum as well as THANK our members for their loyalty, devotion, and participation on the boards. With out you guys we'd be nothing.

Ok FIRST surprise is... We're opening a LGF General Store!!! Some of you may have seen or heard whispers about this project but it is becoming a reality hopefully sooner rather than later. We can offer products such as tee shirts (both long and short sleeved), hoodies, baseball caps, note pads, pens, tote bags, polo shirts, mugs, mouse pads, magnets, key chains, rubber stamps, luggage tags, and even return address labels and stickers! I think we will put to a vote what are the most popular items people would like to see in our General Store and pick the top 5 or so to offer to our forum membership Anything in our Merchandise store will be able to be purchased using paypal so that it is easy for anyone to participate and show their LEOPARD GECKO FORUM PRIDE

As an added bonus there will also be a LFG POTM WINNERS CALENDAR available displaying the last 12 months "Photo of the Month" winning photos. Unfortunately this release may be a bit delayed until we get enough winners to fill our calendar so GET your photos entered people... YOU could be featured in our POTM Winners calendar! Anyone who has a POTM winner in the winners calendar will be able to purchase that calendar at a discounted price. Sorry everyone else has to pay full price.

In the meanwhile until we get enough POTM winners to fill our calendar we will be holding a random calendar contest where members can submit photos to be considered for a general LFG calendar that will also be offered in our General Store... how cool is that! So TWO chances to get into our LGF calendar so take lots of great pictures guys... use high resolution, and make sure they're clear, and HERP related. Keep an eye out for the thread titled "Calendar Submissions Photo Contest", it should be up as soon as next week! SO ... get snappin' those photos people. We will feature the top 12 pictures that got the highest votes. Who knows maybe you could have 3-4 pictures in there Obviously we CAN NOT do this calendar if y'all don't participate so this all depends on you guys.

Next surprise... We will be having a monthly MEMBERSHIP APPRECIATION LOTTERY!!! The lottery will be run similar to the POTM contest. Members that are interested in signing up for the lottery will be the only ones considered in the drawing. THIS WILL NOT BE A FORUM WIDE LOTTERY. You MUST enter every month, and be an active member of the forum to enter, the lottery drawings. Only members with a post count of 25 or higher can enter so START POSTING! Prizes will be different every month and will include the same things that are in the forum's merchandise shop. Tee shirts, baseball caps, pens etc.

As far as I know there aren't any other forums (and I belong to A LOT of them) that offer a monthly "Membership Appreciation Lottery" so be sure to register for the lottery once you see the threads for it. Be sure TO TELL A FRIEND to sign up for the forum and start posting! Any member that referrs a friend that signs up on LGF will automatically get 1 ADDITIONAL chance in the lottery drawing once their referred friend reaches 25 posts, so insted of 1 chance you will have TWO! This is not a one time thing, every month if you referr a friend that signs up you will get an additional chance in the lottery. YAY!!!

Just so our lovely Forum Staff doesn't feel excluded from our efforts to show our appreciation for all you guys do for us, staff will be permitted to enter our monthly lotter once every 3 months. Sorry guys, no referral bonus chances for y'all tho.

We are hoping for the opening of the LFG Store with in the next month after logos are designed and prices set. Y'all should start seeing the Templates for these popping up on the forum soon. I'll be starting an "LGF Store Merchandise" page soon that will show examples of the logos available on the merchandise we decide to offer. Since these are custom designed items we are offeing, EXCLUSIVELY for LGF, shipping will take a little longer to get items to you after their ordered. Expect shipping to take about 2 weeks from date of submission to receiving your finished product.

So that's it kids... there's our big surprises... I hope that y'all are as excited about these wonderful new opportunities as I am I can't wait to see it all up and running. I will be adding stickies to the announcement thread sinece I don't knwo where else to put it... forum features?? in the meanwhile for all our new surprises as well as the rules for each program.
