Hello everyone, My first Q
Hello, Im new to leopard geckos but have kept other reptiles pretty much my whole life. Im hoping to get my first this weekend and would like everyone's opinion on this guy. If you would please confirm that he is in fact a SHTCT? The seller also said baldy but Im not sure. Im trying to read about the morphs. Thanks for any help and I look forward to the replies.[url=https://servimg.com/view/16520490/3][img

Re: Hello everyone, My first Q
It is a Tang but I would not call it a carrot tail...yet.....it is VERY possible that over time the tail will get more orange on it but (and this is a debate between many) there needs to be at least five full rings on the tail of full orange to be considered a carrot tail. If I am wrong on this Jordan no doubt will chime in here.
Either way, it is pretty cute. I love tangs. They are some of my favorites.

Re: Hello everyone, My first Q
It does indeed look like an SHTCT. A very good one too, well worth 60 dollars.
However, before jumping into buying it, you may want to pester the breeder to know a few things; parents genetics, a clear eye picture, and whether or not it contains the Enigma gene.
It's not the typical Enigma appearance, but i have my suspisions on this one, that it may be carrying enigma.

You know Jordan, that thought about enigma crossed my mind too with this one. I didn't say anything because I didn't really SEE it either...strange eh?(uh oh here goes my Canadianism)

I have other pics I will post in a few. I have been talking to the seller everyday and he told me he acquired him from H I S S.

Re: Hello everyone, My first Q
I would say that if he is telling you the truth and he got it from HISS it probably is exactly what he says it is. THEY know what they are talking about when it comes to leos and as long as he is telling you the truth, they would have told him the truth.
Re: Hello everyone, My first Q
Oh I dont think hes lying to me at all. I just was looking at other SHTCT and noticed they dont look much like this guy. I was wondering what the brown tones on his head were if it was a baldy? Do you think those go away after a few sheds? Ive noticed alot of tangs have a solid color head much like the body.

Re: Hello everyone, My first Q
i would think the brown patches are just part of his colouring, I had a tangerine tornado with a brown nose which looked really silly but never shedded out. they may go in time or they may not. but he's a stunning gecko regardless
