Moose and The Purina Animal Hall of Fame
Hello and meet my Whippet name Moose.
Moose was inducted into The Purina Animal Hall Of Fame and awarded a medal for saving the life of my daughter, a very curious and wild 3(at the time) year old.
This is Moose and Alexis before the accident.
Here is a link to our story:

This is a true act of Heroism. There is a poem that was read at the award ceremonies that I would like to share as it really has great meaning to me now.
JUST A DOG
From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog,"
or "that's a lot of money for just a dog."
They don't understand the distance travelled, the time spent,
or the costs involved for "just a dog."
Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog."
Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog,"
but I did not once feel slighted.
Some of my saddest moments have been brought aobut by
"just a dog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch
of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.
If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you probably understand
phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."
"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship,
trust, and pure unbridled joy.
"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience
that make me a better person.
Because of "just a dog" I will rise early, take long walks and look
longingly to the future.
So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog"
but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future,
the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.
"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts
away from myself and the worries of the day.
I hope that someday they can understand that its' not "just a dog"
but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being
"just a man" or "just a woman."
So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog,"
just smile,
because they "just don't understand."

The next time that someone says. "It's just a dog", remember this story because if it weren't for "just my dog" this posting would be a memorial.
Sincerely,
Jolene Sararas, owned by Moose Sararas, inductee to the Purina Hall of Fame

There you go Jordan, you finally got to see me. I usually keep myself pretty anonymous like never using my last name and where I live but it has been all over the news and such that there is not much point in hiding it anymore.

Re: Moose and The Purina Animal Hall of Fame
I would never be without a dog. The poem that I added into this thread raelly says it all. Moose was and is a VERY big part of our family and as you can see from the photo of him and her together, they are great friends. I like to share my story to let people know just how special that dogs are and can be.
And by the way, I love watching MMA, especially UFC. My sons name is Lodune after Lodune Sincaid. Not that he was the best fighter but I loved the name!

Re: Moose and The Purina Animal Hall of Fame
kinda wish i stayed with it! the money nowadays is rediculous! i know rich franklin, kevin randleman, mark coleman, mark kerr, and some of the newer guys coming up. most of us you would never know we are(were) fighters unless someone told you. although some of the newer gen fighters are punks! i wont even watch the ultimate fighter anymore, since the second season...they are all just punks who wanna show their a**es on tv. we worked so hard so many years to get the "barbarian" label off of us, and now these idiots are just putting it right back on fighters again! what are ya gonna do? i cant stand dana white either, lorenzo is cool, but dana is bad for the sport...at least the image of the sport.

Re: Moose and The Purina Animal Hall of Fame
Tender, that is a great word for it. When it comes to the kids he is very tender. He is now 2 years old. At the time of the accident he was not even a full year yet. This is also part of what makes it so amazing. They say usually animals that do things like this are older and mature and such. He is such a good dog. I thank him every day for my daughters life
