Need help sexing new leo
So females only have waaaay small scales where those pores are before the vent. And males scales just are enlarged? Because i have a 6 month leo and i can clearly see a V row of larger scales where the pores should be and i looked on my 2yr female and those scales are just not as easily visible. So the 6mo is def a male? Correct? Im trying to get lil colony going =]

Welcome,
Yes Smiley you are correct. ( As far as my knowledge knows ) Although look for the bulges at the base of the tail if there is no bulges there is no male. I'm sure the others will clarify everything. Anyway make sure you are well read up on breeding before you try. So many people think they know enough and end up messing up by either mixing geckos and making double hets or killing egg after egg after egg. I don't mean to sound discouraging. I know from the nice people on here telling me all these things. Well that's it I guess. Hope you have a good time here on the fromum.

Sounds like a male
but if you are unsure, you can post a pic for us to see.

Re: Need help sexing new leo
The difference is that the males pores are sunken in whereas the females are not. My females have the V but aren't sunken in!
Re: Need help sexing new leo
Something else to look for I pores along the back of the rear legs. Looking for buldges isn't always accurate as some females can be buldgy and mistaken for males.
