Shifty, Lucky, and Lurk
Scanning craigslist I spotted a raptor male for really cheap , so i had to! the girl needed money for mice to feed her snakes or something. She received it as a gift for caring for her friend's geckos, and I don't think she knew much about this guy, luckily for me. His name is Shifty... due to his two snake eyes making him always appear as if he's looking off to the right. he's afraid of the light lol.
Also on craigslist was this gecko in very poor shape, and free to a loving home. Originally purchased for a 6 year old boy who is now 8 years old and neglecting the poor thing. kept on calcium sand that was never cleaned, with one hide, and no under tank heater. She has two eye infections, missing toes, possible MBD, and possibly sand in her gut. She found me, so i'm naming her Lucky.
I'v been giving her warm water baths and she was so dehydrated she could barely poo on her own, and her cloaca bulged outward for a week, passed something, and now is back to normal. her skin just appeared cloudy overnight, about to shed. I'm giving her saline eye drops daily, and with the precision of a surgeon removing the gunk glueing her eyelid shut every otherday. after her baths and eye drops she opens her eyes open for a bit and walks around. She is very cooperative and understands i am helping her and looks better, heavier, every day. pseudo-force-feeding waxworms is going very nicely and she enjoys them but cannot find them on her own. I dont think she has the strength to eat mealworms. I plan to contact a vet for some good eye drops ASAP; i'v been traveling for the past week.
And the third is my little petco pal i'v had for a month. Her name is Lurk.
whats up guys?

Lovely geckos!
Shifty is very cute! Love him, super jealous. I've been wanting a RAPTOR for a while!
Poor Lucky! Good for you for taking care of her, I'm sure she'll be a happy, healthy gecko soon!
Lurk is gorgeous as well!

Re: Shifty, Lucky, and Lurk
I took those pictures this morning.
this afternoon i helped lucky shed, and both eyecaps came off, removing the majority of the problem. her left eye seems okay and healed but her right eye still has a little infection. she's putting up with a lot; maybe because she was owned by a 6 year old lol.
also got her to swallow a calcium dusted waxworm and mini mealworm. yay!

Re: Shifty, Lucky, and Lurk
I LOVE this forum. <3 Lucky is just a beautiful lil girl. I think leo's are great pets, but at 6 years old I couldn't trust a young child to properly care for a leo. I mean, it's not the hardest thing in the world, but the parent should still have been responsible enough to care for it, or wait til the boy/girl was old enough and responsibile enough. You're other leo's look great! Both of my leo's are from petco, just got my second one 2 days ago. <3
