foam sheets
I was wondering if anyone knew how much heat foam craft sheets could handle. I was thinking of putting some under her hide on the warm side of the tank. She always hangs out on the cool side in her hide on the second level which has a floor made of a sheet of foam and I think she enjoys the texture or something. But I don't know if the foam can handle the heat from the UTH or not, does anyone know?
for anyone who has no idea what I'm talking about here is a pic of foam sheets...though it's still hard to really see what it is:
If it is fine with the heat it might be a good substrate option instead of paper towels/newspaper. As far as I know it's cheap, and it provides traction. But I'm worried it would melt.
