Re: What Morph?
its hard to tell from the pictures you have because they are so grainy, and seeing how he is so young it might be a while before we could correctly identify your little leo, if you could try and get us some clearer pictures we might be able to give it a guess.
Re: What Morph?
i agree with mystic on the pics, but it looks like a normal or a possible low expression jungle....? maybe even a tangerine, but better pics would deffinately help us help you out!

Re: What Morph?
you can use papertowel. I had reptile carpet and her little nails got caught on the carpet alot. So I now use papertowel till I can get some peel and stick tiles.

Re: What Morph?
I'm thinking its a jungle.
Also, repticarpet isn't recommended as a substrate, as the leos nails and teeth can get stuck in it. Its also a breeding ground for bacteria and all sorts of nasty stuff. I suggest paper towels (as mjkaylee recommended), or tiling that you can get at home improvement stores. Personally I like tiling the best. You can use slate, ceramic, peel-n-stick etc. Looks great, and wayyyy easier to clean.

Re: What Morph?
I'm still pretty new to genetics, so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt. lol
I'm guessing your leo is a jungle normal. Normal is a dominant gene, so whatever you breed this guy/girl to, the hatchlings are going to be normals. But, they can carry a gene for other morphs. Like if you breed this guy/gal to a tremper albino, then the hatchlings will be normal het tremper albino. The problem is because you got him/her from a petstore you don't know the genetic background of the leo. So it could have hets for things we don't know. Hets can't be visually determined, only through test-breeding.

Re: What Morph?
If you did breed him/her, and bred him/ her to a leo showing jungle patterning like yours, the hatchlings would show some sort of aberrant or jungle patterning.

Re: What Morph?
I would do a lot of research before you even consider breeding. I will be breeding this upcoming breeding season, and I have been doing research for over a month, and plan to continue my research up and through the entire process.
Breeding leopard geckos takes a lot of time, money, and responsibility. Its not something to be taken lightly.
Honestly, I wouldn't breed that leo. If you really want to breed I would invest in a good breeding pair.
Leo breeding doesn't really go by age, its more by weight. Generally though, a leo should be at least 55grams. And you need to be conditioning them before hand will plenty of healthy feeders and good calcium and multivitamins.
