biteing shed off?
Is it normal for leos to bite their shed off? My new girl scarlett is doing this on her legs. She bites and pulls till it comes off. Ive never seen any of my lizards do this before. Also, the shed doesnt even look like its fully ready to come off when she does it.

Yes, it is completely normal, do not worry at all. Mine do that all the time. I think it is a defensive measure, because in the wild if they leave their skin around, predators will know they are there.

Oh, if she is pulling off digits, then that is not normal, but they will bite the skin off their toes as well. Are you sure she actually bit the toes off?

Re: biteing shed off?
Is she shedding in the moist hide? If she isn't, you can lightly mist her to give her added moisture she needs to shed properly. If you don't have a moist hide, make sure you prepare one so she can use it to help her shed.
Leopard geckos do bite and pull their shed off their body. They usually eat it for nutrients as it's rich in protein. It would seem like she's biting at her toes, but chances are she's actually doing it in a way she isn't hurting herself. She's using her mouth to moist the loose skin on her toes, then using her teeth to pull it off. It can seem harsh when you see it for the first time, but chances are she is fine.
Check her tomorrow and see if she has any loose shed, and see if she indeed bite her toes off. You want to make sure there isn't any loose skin hanging around her eyes, toes, or tail as a bad shed can cause them to go blind, get infected, and lose their toes & tails due to circulation being cut off by the loose skin.

Yes she is sheeding in her moist hide. I will check her out today because I have to clean her tank anyways. It's so weird that they bite their shed off, I didnt read about this anywhere. Scary.

Yep, they do! Its so weird watching them do it.
I watched my old golden gecko do it once.
If she's having trouble with her toes you can soak her little feet in some warm water, or gently rub at her toes with a wet Q-Tip.
