Phoenix Reptile Expo 2011!!! PIC HEAVY!

I went to my first reptile expo and it was a blast!! I went with Echo (not sure if it was her first time too) but we had a ton of fun looking at all of the reptiles and stuff on the floor.

I had to turn down a PAAAAINFUL deal though. A guy (same guy that sold Echo her leo) offered to sell me two RAPTOR females and two Mack Snow het RAPTOR females for $150...oh the pain! When I turned that down, he said he'd sell me a $30 Ball Python and give me a female RAPTOR for free....OH THE PAIIIIN! Good thing I didn't accept though...I won the last raffle of the night and got a turtle playpen, thermostat, and my first KSB

I don't think I would have been able to turn that deal down. LOL. I wouldn't have the room but I'd still want to take the deal lol. Good self-control! I wouldn't have had it lol

All the animals are gorgeous! I love going to expos. I went to my second one about two or three weeks ago. They are so much fun!

Haha yeah it was a really hard deal to resist...ESPECIALLY with Echo trying to peer pressure me into it!! Hahaha. The RAPTOR females were her Bold Stripe if I remember correctly. I'm really glad I did wait though...I don't have room for that many geckos on short notice. It would have been a terrible situation.

Really psyched I won though. There was a ton of good stuff up for raffle...I think someone won over $1,000 of stuff plus $450 in their pocket. Lucky duck. I wish I could've figured out where to join the raffle on day one though...each time I asked a vendor they ignored me But, again, can't complain! Love my KSB

that was a really fun expo! alot bigger than the tuscon one.

Hera is doing great, she just ate yesterday. I'd post a picture, but I'm pretty sure there might be a few people who'd be offended at seeing a picture of a live feeding. If you want, I can PM you a pic if you're curious to see.

I am a TERRIBLE influence. I keep sending Jolene links to reptiles that are for sale that I think she'd be interested in. And I egg my friends on to get pets. I'm terrible.

I'm glad Hera is doing great! I would actually appreciate it if you'd send me the picture. I really want a snake, but my mom has so far said no, but I think she is slowly coming around. The only thing I'm still unsure about is the feeding of them. I'm willing to do it in a second, but its still kinda got the gross factor. I've been watching vids of snakes eating, and thats helped a bit. So I would really appreciate it if you'd send me the picture. :P

I was researching KSBs and was pleasantly surprised with this tidbit of info: It's supposed to be easy to get them on F/T mice...they don't have heat pits and rely on sight and smell for food. I'm going to give it a go when I find a local shop that sells F/T (the one I go to doesn't, but will fresh kill for you )
