Well hello!

My name is Niki and I have just recently joined the reptile world... as of yesterday.

I went to the Reptile Expo here in AZ with a friend of mine, her username here is Tsuhei, and originally didn't have any intentions to bring home a reptile. However, I did end up bringing home a leopard gecko last night. She is a MSHR (mack snow het raptor) and her batch date was in July so she's only a few months old. We're expecting her to be 60-90 grams when she is full grown and she's beautiful. I was recommended to come play around on here so I could learn more about how to take care of a leopard gecko (though I've learned so much already!) so here I am!

Welcome to the forum, Cerra's become a real staple of the community! Glad to see she's bringing in some new faces.

Oh yes. I basically fell under peer pressure thanks to her. I originally was going to wait on buying a Leo. :P But I'm happy she urged me to buy Starbuck. In fact, she ended up paying for her as an early xmas present hahaha.

Cerra's pretty awesome. Known her for a few years now and now I have someone to go to when I have questions or freak out at if something goes wrong. haha!

If Cerra's unavailable, we have a range of people on different time zones so the forum is typically "at the ready".

Welcome to the forum! I was at the Phx expo yesterday and today. Who did you get your little one from?

Oh really? Neat!

Uhm. I really can't remember what the place was called, but they were the booth that also had the Croc. Cerra and I will be at the Phx expo today in about half an hour or so!

I wonder what other neat things Cerra's going to bring home or pressure you into! XD

Haha who knows! We will see! I know she's looking at getting a snake for her fiance as a christmas present but he's so picky about the coloring and breed of the snake so it might not happen. XD We did get a TON of free calcium packets from the PetSmart booth yesterday. I probably have enough to last me a year or so! We also go two free bowls from them too so I lucked out yesterday. Just had to buy the heating pad, temp probe, tank, and a couple hides and we made a moist hide for her as well. She LOVES the one I have on the cooler side of the tank.

Thanks Kathryn! Starbuck is from Battlestar Galactica (cause I'm a nerd) though it also reminds me of Starbucks coffee. I think it suits her well. When she becomes of age and of proper size Cerra and I are hoping to be able to breed her with Typhon and try to get some super raptors or other rare breeds of leos. I'm sure they'll make gorgeous babies!

OMG yes. You're talking about the 15 year old GIGANTIC one right? I was petting him and took a picture with him. He was awesome and so chill. He woke up when Cerra started snapping pics but he didn't move an inch. I was pretty jealous of him -- he has the life! lol!

LOL, I don't know what that is XD I'm a nerd, but more an animal nerd lol. I thought the coffee was what you were naming her after lol. That is awesome! I'm hoping to breed leos this breeding season. What is Typhon again? I can't remember XD

Hahaha it's a sci fi show that is AWESOME. Best show ever. Haha! But Starbucks coffee is delicious. Yummy.

Typhon is a Super Snow Eclipse, possibly a het raptor. He's pretty handsome too so I can imagine the babies will be sexy! hahaha.

It's ok, I'm a nerd too! I play World of Warcraft hahaha. I want a monitor lizard so bad! The pet store I got Claudia from has a savannah monitor baby that I'm in love with but I don't have enough room

Yeah we went back to the reptile expo today and omg I wanted to get more but I have no room like.. at all. However, my boyfriend loves snakes and after seeing his reaction to the snake that Cerra won in a raffle, I'm preeeeeetty sure we'll be getting him a snake soon.

Boo! you spoiled my surprise But yeah won a KSB, a turtle playpen, and a thermostat...so pics will be on the way soon in a new thread!
