We no longer have sand in our cage! Yesterday was the first day I had her and then when I woke up this morning I just had the urge to research and found this forum. :P Thank goodness for that. I did however have a heat pad, 2 regular hides and one moist hide. Not bad for a newbie. Lol

Welcome to the forum Jessica!
Claudia is gorgeous! How long have you had her?
She looks like she dropped her tail; I have a leo with a dropped tail as well! Her name is Miracle and she was a rescue.
I hope we are able to help you learn what you want to know! Do you have any questions?

Re: Hello! I'm Jessica....
Thanks! :P I've had her for 2 days now. I was thinking the same thing about her tail. I got her from a family owned pet store that sells reptiles and tropical fish. They said she isn't an adult yet but who knows. She's about 6 inches long, but I'm guessing she was probably longer with her original tail? They told me she is a carrot tail? I don't know anything about the colors and the gene stuff. I've done a little bit of research on the different coloring names but I don't know the specifics.

Re: Hello! I'm Jessica....
She looks like a SHTCT possibly SHTCTB
SHTCT= Super Hypo Tangerine Carrot Tail
SHTCTB= Super Hypo Tangerine Carrot Tail Baldy
SHTCT= Super Hypo Tangerine Carrot Tail
SHTCTB= Super Hypo Tangerine Carrot Tail Baldy
Re: Hello! I'm Jessica....
What's the difference between the two?

Re: Hello! I'm Jessica....
Yeah, she would have been a bit longer with her original tail. The regenerated tail never grows back to look the same size, shape or color wise.
The difference between SHTCT and SHTCTB is the baldy gene. I made a directory that lets you read and see all the different morphs and traits available (words courtesy of Jordan ) [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
So, SHTCT (super hyp tangerine carrot tail) is a super hypo (no spotting on the body) tangerine (line bred trait showing orange on body) carrot tail (orange on the tail). A SHTCTB (super hypo tangerine carrot tail baldy) is a super hypo (no spotting on the body) tangerine (line bred trait showing orange on the body) carrot tail(orange on the tail) baldy (no spotting on the head). I'm agreeing with Jay (asianpersuasion) and I'm thinking its a SHTCTB. I'm just learning all about the genes right now
I'm glad you switched out the sand! I wish more people would take the time to learn about their pets like you are taking the time now!
I love the second last picture you posted, where she is looking out of the coconut! Its really cute!

Re: Hello! I'm Jessica....
Thanks for the info guys! :P
Yeah I love it when she peeks out of her coconut, thats how she won my heart at the pet store. I had seen her in there for a few months but never saw what she looked like because she was always in the coconut. But last time I went in there I took her out of the little tub she was in and when I went to put her away she didn't want to go back in. But when she did, she crawled back in her coconut and then started peeking at me! I took a picture of it of course :P

Re: Hello! I'm Jessica....
She has some orange marking on her head, do those qualify as spots or are spots black only?
