Beautiful markings. what are they?
I picked up this leopard gecko today, and I must say I'm impressed with the markings in comparison to others I'v seen in person. I like the symmetry and contrast. Could somebody please help me ID the morph? I can ID human bone but geckos are new. I'm pretty excited on my purchase because I haven't owned a lizard in years, and then it was several adult iguanas.
high yellow what? or is it even a high yellow?
Thanks!

Hey Liam. Sorry I can't help ID the morph cause I have no clue but I just had to stop by and say WOW! When I saw the pic I was really impressed with the colour as well.

Thats an Abberant. A Normal Variation.
An abberant has broken banding on the body, but not on the tail.
Due to the shapes of the patterning, it will likely grow up to look just like a High Yellow im afraid. But lovely gecko anyway

what a pretty little leo you have there, wonderful markings! even if they go away i think he/she used their markings well to get a good owner ^_~ but that's one of the things that is kind of urging about leos is that they can be spectacular as babies but then grow to just be normals lol
thats one of the reasons on my next leo i would like to get a adult so i know what its colors are, oh that brings up another question. after they are adults do they change colors and patterns still? i know ferrets change their coats as they get older.

Re: Beautiful markings. what are they?
being that it came from petco i don't know its history. on november 4th it weighed 8.7 grams and today november 6th weighs 9 grams, at 5 inches.
would it be safe to guess its ~1.5-2 months old? if it is, it hatched right around my birthday.

Re: Beautiful markings. what are they?
Yes, an aberrant normal as Jordan said. Lovely markings although they will change as the leo gets older. I also have one of those. Here is a pic of her when she was 5.5 months old.
Your baby could be a high yellow as it is a bright yellow colour and does not have too many dark spots on the body. It looks around 2.5 months old.

Re: Beautiful markings. what are they?
somewhere i read that high yellows don't have spots on the legs, which fits my gecko.
i guess i'll have to wait a few months to really find out if its likey an abberant high yellow
