Reptile Room Videos?

Hey all, lately I've been obsessed with watching videos of reptile rooms on youtube. You know, seeing what other people keep and what their rooms look like. I think it would be really cool if we posted videos of what are reptile rooms look like. Even if its a pet room, not just reptiles, I'd love to see it! I'll be posting one in a few days, once I've cleaned my room. LOL. :P
So yeah, if you wanna show what your reptile rooms look like, I think that would be awesome! I'm really looking forward to it!

my reptile room is just my room...haha. too much crap. i'm trying to convince my dad to turn our spare bedroom into the reptile room.

Same! I have my gecko, my bearded dragon, a 15 gal hermit crab tank, a 15 gal African clawed frog aquarium, and my rabbit in my bedroom. Which also happens to be the smallest room in the house! I had to sell my furniture to fit everyone in here. I will post some pictures once I clean it today!

My room is the reptile room, except for Miracle's tank which is in the dining room, cause my mom loves her :P

I have the baby gecko tank, a 10 gal fish tank, a smaller guppy fry tank, golden gecko tank, and a green tree frog tank/bin. :P And I am getting another reptile soon.

I'm at my grandparents house, so I'll probably make a video when I get back. My grandad made me a new golden gecko tank so I'm gonna be posting about that too when I get home tomorrow probably!

JEss- how many ADFs do you have? I've never heard of 15 gal tank just for ADFs! That is awesome!

So kathstew i think this is a pretty cool idea so i made a video of my reptile room.

So this is just a short video of my reptile room. While making the video i noticed that in the CWD tank they had pulled down one of there fake plates that was hanging on the back wall. And the big blue thing underneath the Mali Uromaystx tank is another 40gal breeder tank that i have as an extra. All of my Feeder insect colonies are in different rooms in my basement except for the crickets.

@Kathstew: He is an African calwed froggie, not an ADF! ACFs are MUCH bigger than ADFs, and he is albino too. They can grow to be 5-6" long, and live 15+ years. I've only had mine for 4 years though so he isn't too big yet.

Wow you guys have got alot of pets chillen in your room. I've got my veiled chameleon (his cage is 2x2x4), 2 crested geckos (each in seperate tanks, my leo, 2 guinea pigs, a 10 gal fish tank, and usually atleast 2 cats, because that's where they like to hang out haha.

In my room.. which is terrible and messy so i'm not videoing it for a long time .. there is a tank with a fat-tailed jird in a wooden viv that will be for my new leo banana's 20 gallon tank, and a storage container with 5 giant african land snails in.

Then, there's a tank with 2 more fat-tailed jirds in my mom room because there's no room in my room

& 6 rabbit hutches outside i might video that on tuesday when i've given all the bunnies houses a full clean and the garden is neat

jay- AWESOME room! Seriously, you have such a range of reptiles its awesome! Love your CWDs! They are adorable!!! Your room is seriously awesome! Your tanks are all so well decorated as well, they all look gorgeous! LOL the iguanas a jerk XD

jess - lol. Wow, I feel dumb now XD African CLAWED frogs are awesome! They have them at my LFS, and I want one, but don't have the room. XD

I'll probably make mine tomorrow, I gotta clean my fish tank first, otherwise you'll see the yucky green algae I'm having problems with lately :P ANDDDDD my grandfather built my golden gecko a new tank. It looks AMAZING.

Is your fish tank Live Planted and do you have lights for your fish tank?

Yeah it is live planted and I have LED lights. Its very frustrating with this algae. :P

@kathryn ok umm does your fish tank sit in direct sunlight alot of the time? Im just trying to think of different things. Lighting on a fish tank speeds up algae growth as does Natural sunlight. Thats why i was asking about the lighting. Do you have your lighting on a timed schedule IE 12hrs on 12hrs Off? If not thats the first thing you need to start doing and that will help with the algae growth alot. And if the tank sits where it recieves direct sunlight then you need to try and figure a way to block most of that lighting during the day only letting it get to the tank for a few hours a day. I dont if you can get any of these products in canada but im sure you can find something similar but try getting Algae Control made by Tetra or something of the sort. Clean out your tank and get as much of the growing algae as you can then add this treatment and it should help clear out the rest and slow its regrowth alot as well. I had that problem in my 55gal tank and cleaned it out used the Algae control and reduce the amount of light in the tank and now the algae has slowed considerably and i only have to go in an clean algae once every few months now. Good Luck

Its not on a complete 12 hrs on/off schedule. I turn the light on when I get up around 9am and turn it off when I go to bed around 10:30pm. Do you think I should try to get closer to a 12hr schedule?
My tank isn't near any direct light. Its in my room, but my blinds are always closed cause I have an "allergy" to sun (no joke- its part of my disease lol). I may look for the algae stuff, thanks! My fish in the tank came down with an outbreak of what I believe was columnaris, and they are all slowly dieing, poor things. If they continue to die I'm not gonna restart my tank, I'm gonna save it for something else eventually.

Ok your lighting schedule is just fine. I know about the sun allergy actually my Nephew/Godson is also allergic to the sun :-). Well as for the Columnaris i have a few more questions for you First what types of fish do you have in your tank, What is the water temp in tank, What type of filtration and pumps are using in the tank? OO and what size tank is it. That will help me better help you to try and get your fish treated and healthy again
