Nice... I so want one. There is a breeder here in the states that sells teh b&w and extreme giant for around $150-200 shipped. He makes a claim that his tegus are "Puppy dog tame". A lot of people on my tegu forum agree

yes sarah they are very scary when they are agressive, a rescue centre took on the red tegu and i've never seen so much blood as when he bite the womens hand and wrist.

from what ive herd the reds can be just as tame if you work with them from a baby and i got Taz at 2yrs old but he was ment to only need minor taming work but i couldn't get near him without being tail whipped which hurts lol

is it vinyard or something like that your on about kel? my other half Gary swears by b&w tegus but thats cos he could put Tig on his back and tickle his belly but if i got Tig out he was allowed to climb on me, scratch me and bite me in between my legs (ouch) and i wasn't allowed to touch or pick him up lol

only get one ifs its a baby or the owners show you that its dog tame or you could get hurt.
reds are smaller and bulker than the b&ws, theres about 2ft difference in full grown size reds get to about 4ft and b&ws can get 6ft and they both need lots of ground space.

Yep Sam, it's actually called Varnyard. I've seen a bunch of videos on youtube of really cool tegus. Gary sounds like a bit of a dolt if you can't touch the animal if it's clawing/biting yyou... does he at least collect it off ya?

thats the one Varnyard. Gary wasn't there when his b&w clawed/bite me he was at work and i was trying to clean the tank out as he had done a smelly poo, but i didn't think he would do that as when gary was there Tig would climb out the onto my lap lay tthere for a bit and go back into the viv without problem so i thought he would be the same without gary there.

yeah we did when we had the flat they had there own room so we had space for bigger stuff. wish we still had them as they were lovely to look at and great fun to feed lol
