Morph calculator
I'm new to Leo breeding so I'm going heavy on the research at the moment! My question is - how accurate are these morph calculators and do many of you use them? Just as I think I've got the hang of it the calculator will come up with something totally different to what I had in mind!

Re: Morph calculator
If you use this one, it's very accurate as I know the author of it updates it very often.
And yes I use it all the time.

Re: Morph calculator
This is the one I have been using. Dies it just state the actual genetics rather than the common name of the morph as this maybe why I'm confused

Re: Morph calculator
this is the one that I use:

The problem that I have with the one Mardy suggested is they ask many questions about the appearance of the geckos and that really has no bearing on the genetics of them.
However, it is a matter of personal preference. I am glad mardy is happy with the other one, I just prefer this one. It give you twice the information to play with if you test them both out

If you are new to gecko genetics, yes you could be confused by the long detailed names they give. For an example, you may get this from one of your calculations:
Tremper Albino Eclipse Patternless-Stripe
The common name for the above is just RAPTOR. Everybody knows RAPTOR, but it may actually be good to know the actual genetics behind the raptor. A raptor is really just a tremper albino + eclipse gene + patternless-stripe. So if you are looking to get into breeding, it helps to learn the details of the morphs by more than just the common name.
Another example:
Super Snow Tremper Albino Eclipse Patternless-Stripe
Sounds intimidating, but it's really just a Super RAPTOR. It's an all white gecko with red eyes, genetic speaking it's a combination of mack snow gene + tremper albino + eclipse + patternless-stripe.
Re: Morph calculator
That's what I thought! I'm glad you used the super raptor as an example because that was one I was looking at. I kept thinking if Ron tremper created the diablo blanco with tremper albino blazing blizzard and a raptor, why doest it give the answer as just diablo blanco. Thankyou for clearing this up
