My first leo. Pic Heavy
Hello everyone! First, I would like to say once more: thank you for all of your help and advice! I really really appreciate the suggestions and support.
This is my new (most likely male) Super Snow Leopard Gecko! He's super cute...I think he might be about 4 months old. Still haven't thought of a name yet, but that will come in due time.
Will add more pics when he's done figuring out what a coconut hut is.

Congrates either way

Yeah he's a super snow...at least that's what I was told. I bought him from a local reptile shop here in the valley

So cute... I have a concern with the bowls in the viv tho... is the brown one for water? you might want to try something smaller if that is water, like maybe a votif candle holder... would hate to see that beauty accidentally get stuck in a water bowl... that could be tragic.

The brown bowl has little steps on it But I can downgrade to a more shallow dish if it's concerning... the water height is maybe 1/2 and inch?

Being little even with steps it would still worry me as if he did get stuck he'd panic and that could also hurt him as well.

Good point. I'll replace it with a more shallow dish.

He sure is cute! Can't wait to see him all grown up and fat. Hee hee. Looks a bit younger than 4 mths but I am not an expert.
Kel has a point about the water dish. But don't get rid of the big one cos he may like to "sleep" in it when he's older and bigger.
Its obvious that you have been bitten by the leopard gecko love bug. Enjoy your little guy and let us know how things go with him. And once again, well done for doing your homework BEFORE you ran out and purchased an exotic pet. Wish there were more caring people like us in the world...

Awwwww, I love watching them stalking their prey especially when they are soooo small. They are trying to be "big" boys and girls...lol

I couldn't have completed my homework without you guys! I don't want to be like some pet owners who run out, grab a pet, then realize how much work and money is involved until it's too late and either take care of it poorly or give it away to someone. That irritates me like no other
But he looks smaller than 4 months, mm? I couldn't get an honest answer out of the reptile guy at the shop I bought him from concerning his age because they didn't breed for this guy. They usually breed hypos, so an outside breeder sold him to the shop. How old do you think he might be? 2 months?
I don't think his age will be TOO concerning in terms of a challenge...the only thing that's challenging is making the repashy supplement stick to the meal worms long enough until he eats them.

Re: My first leo. Pic Heavy
Becca has a thread somewhere showing off her new super snow, so if you wanna catch a glimpse into the future of what yours will look like all grown up you should find it.Karagain wrote:Lovely!!! Super snows are so gorgeous I got one on sunday <3
You know you can actually embed youtube video's into your posts, just as if its a picture, so viewers don't have to leave the page to watch it and can simply play it right here. When using the advanced post editor, click the video button, and its obvious from there.

To be honest 4 months seems pretty accurate to me, give or take a week ot two. I worked mainly with Super snows last year.
I keep saying it, super snows are my fave single trait morph, so im glad to have seen another owner fall in love with the SS's. Lovely Leo!

@Jordan:
Oops! Sorry about not embedding the video..I'll do it next time if I get another chance to record my leo doing something.
I'll take a look at Becca's Super Snow! I can't wait 'til my little guy grows up and gets a big, plump tail! Thanks for the age confirmation as well.

How are you feeding the mealworms? Do you put them in a dish with the repashy dusted on them or do you hand feed and dust each worm individually before giving them to your leo? It doesn't have to be a thick coating of it, not like fried chicken but I've never had a problem with my repashy not ticking. My supers always look nicely coated when I hand feed Eros.

I use tongs and drop them already dusted into the tank in front of him to make them squirm. I put them in a bowl outside of the tank and gently roll them around in it before feeding them individually to my leo. When they crawl around, the Repashy falls off...especially after the initial drop. I actually made a feeding question in the Food and Feeding part of the forum.

Re: My first leo. Pic Heavy
More pictures! He looks like he's fattening up just a liiiiittle bit! Also....the sexing pic is bad quality, but trying to confirm if he is a male?
"Can I hide here?" (Trying to figure out if my thighs is a possible a hide... )
Male or Female?
I can kiiiind of see a little upside-down "V" above his vent.
