Re: Hades - Hypermelanistic Pure Afghanicus
Now that is what I was talking about. Thank you Shawn for sharing this with us. I have had an interest is seeing how dark I could go but I have not yet researched it yet. Very exciting!
Re: Hades - Hypermelanistic Pure Afghanicus
just amazing! i wish i could get one and name it toothless because its just so awesome, i love how the eyes stand out. and jordan what do you mean they turned to nothing what happened to them?
Re: Hades - Hypermelanistic Pure Afghanicus

Re: Hades - Hypermelanistic Pure Afghanicus
thanks guys for the comments. "she" gets darker with every shed. there have only been a handful of very dark pure afghans hatched, and almost all of them never made it to their first shed. i do know of one very dark adult afghan, but the person who owns that one actually called me and said this "girl" was much darker.
as for the black pearl, velvet, charcoal leos.... JMG has some interesting projects in the works by crossing a black pearl with a charcoal. most of the marketed black pearls were sold as babies or young juvies, and pretty much all of them look like normals as adults. i have another TSM afghanicus that just hatched a week ago that has the potential to be dark as well, so i will be linebreeding for hypermelanism next year.

an Afghan sub species though.
yep, it's a pure E. macularius afghanicus whose parents were originally produced from wild caught stock.
E. macularius macularius - main leopard gecko morph
E. macularius montanus
E. macularius afghanicus
E. macularius fasciolatus
E. macularius smithii
We are working with all of these except smithii, but only because i have not found anyone in the US working with them. i would love to get my hands on a pair though so keep your eyes peeled, lol
