Pet suggestions? Empty Pet suggestions?

Post by kathstew Fri Aug 05, 2011 1:48 am

I've had a few fish deaths in my family unfortunately, and now have a few tanks open for use. They are small, so I know not much can live in them. I have a 2.5 gallon tank and a 5.5 gallon tank. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I could keep in them? I'd prefer something that isn't a fish, because I already have quite a few fish.
Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks!

I would consider selling the two cages for a little bit of money and getting a 10 gallon or 20 gallon and starting your own group of green or brown anoles.

Fun to watch and a great addition to the family as well as fun to breed and makes the house feel decorated.

I second the idea of selling them off for spare cash towards a bigger enclosure, which would open your pet selection up quite a bit.

Thanks everyone!
I may try selling the tanks, but lately there seems to be an abudance of used tanks for sale in my area lately. Its crazy. So.Many.People.
Thats why I was wondering what I'd be able to keep in those tanks.
Sarah - I would if I could! But I live in Canada, and I think I remember reading somewhere its illegal to bring them into Canada ;(
Jolene - thanks! I will look into those!
Brittany - thanks, I will look them up! Unfortunately breeding is probably out of the question! My mom wouldn't be very happy! :P
Kel - thanks, I'll look into some frogs, I like frogs! Very Happy Yuck, I don't mind some bugs, but cockroaches freak me out O_O
Kodie - thanks! That idea is looking better and better as I keep thinking about it!

And theres always the option of storing them to free up room to one day place another cage. I don't know your setup's, so I couldn't really say, but recycling them in the basement for now could be just as useful.

Maybe you could take the 2.2 gal and turn it on its side in your large viv for the leo and make a cave and second level for them to play on Smile
