When is the next doncaster show?

Yup, same question as in title.
Is it June like last year and then September?
Any dates as of yet?
Also will you be going or not this year?

Sunday 18th September 2011

West Midlands Branch will be holding their annual show at the above venue on 6th November 2011.
(this will be organised by Richard Brook who also has booking forms - and run under the same criteria as the two main shows)

All national breeders meetings will be open to the general public,
and tables can be booked by members of any legitimate reptile society/club.
Application forms for both shows are now available.

But what it doesn't say is that you have to be a member of the IHS in order to have a table in the first place! At least, I'm presuming that is the case - as last year you had to be an IHS member just to help on a table.

Yes anyone can go, and anyone can vend as long as you are a member of IHS.
OR, what Jill is saying above, previous years, you've had to be part of IHS, but it hasn't mentioned it this year.
Hmm strange. Maybe they will update it a bit more nearer the time and have more info on booking tables.

Okay, yeh its a good place to pick up animals. I got 5 gecko's from their last year, also an African Pygymy Hedgehog.
Its also a great place to meet breeders and talk to them.
Im hoping to have a table this year too, selling gecko's.

No, you have to be a member of the IHS to sell or to help out. (And it was the same the year before when I 'helped' Lindy out) SO if it was you, me and Ella we would all have to be IHS members. And then you have to pay for the use of a table...Of course you can also subtract the entry fee as you wouldn't have to pay that if you're selling (but there is a small charge for the helpers).

I think the entry fee last year was about £8 for non-members.

So how is it you become an IHS member? is it a free and easy sign up?

Google IHS and check out their website. Unfortunately it isn't free. I think I paid £19 for 12 months single membership the other year. It might be cheaper for two epople to go for a family membership, but I haven't checked.

And the bad news is that it isn't 12 months from when you join - it is literally a calendar year (Jan-Dec). So get your membership fee in now if you want to make the most of it. I'm not sure but you might still get a newsletter and reptile related booklet through every month...
