Cool tank Smile

I don't know much about the wood chip stuff you use as substrate.. I've heard it can harm the leo but i also have friends who use it and their leos are perfectly healthy. so long as the wood chip are big soo the leo cant eat them then i guess it's all good =]

I like the hide under the plant it looks really cool Very Happy can you get a closer pic of it for me soo I can see all of it Smile is the top flat? If it is, I want one ^ ^ Banana would love to sit on top of her hides and be nosey Very Happy

I want your hide!! where did you get it from?? if it was from pets at home i'll be happy because they are in every town lol .. but if not, I can't get one because im not from where you live Sad

I dont know much about your calcium.. but I think that that dusting powder calcium plus is a really good one and a popular brand in the US.. i think its complete soo you dont need to leave any in the tank... But get a second opinion..

I use komodo dusting powder for dusting.. its £3.99 a tub and its got loads in soo it lasts for ages. its in a green tub with a leopard gecko on the front.
I use exoterra calcim powder for putting the tank. its £1.99 a tub but it's small Very Happy

Sad awww. thats not fair lol Very Happy
Is it made by a brand, like exoterra or something? Because I might be able to find it online ^ ^

Yep, if you use mine you should put some pure calcium in the tank. I use a little bottlecap from a yazoo milkshake :P But I'm sure that repashy is a proper good one.. I think kel might use that one.. or know if it.. soo ask her about that one Very Happy like I said, it's popular in the US.

If these supplements that you mention for 3.99 are doing the trick, then i should stop buying the expensive stuff i do lol and might start buying some of this.

The stuff i buy is 40 quid, i would rather spend 4 quid, if its just as good.

Usually when a suppliment says calcium plus it isn't just pure calcium. Only pure calcium should be left in the tank and only if you're not using an all in 1 suppliment. always read the ingredient list. The picture you're showing there is the repashy all in one calcium plus icb that I have mentioned a few times in suppliment questions. You DO NOT leave this in his tank to lick.

Also I think your gecko is at a perfect weight. I hate seeing all the pix of obese chubby geckos that some people think looks cute or nice. Obease is obease and is unhealthy for your leo just as much as being underweight.

Fyi sarah armpit bubbles can also be caused by excessive protein. The bubbles don't go down by reducing calcium intake (make sure you take the calcium dish out of the viv) then it is likely excessive protein. Vary the diet more to include some higher fat feeders like silk worms, wax worms, butter worms.

thanks for the advice kermit but i never said i have a dish in my viv i was asking if i need one in there but now i know i dont because i reashearched the calcium plus i have given a picture of and i always got you DO NOT need a dish , dusting the food is fine , just wanted to check my little elmo is gettin the right amount of calcium and he is, and for the record i am not planning on making my gecko as you say " OBESE " just want to fatten him up a little bit more so if he ever gose off his food he as got a nice bit of fat on him n he dont get ill

in relation to what you said jorden i find the one that i have put a picture up of is better then the primium dusting powder and find it dusts the crickets and mealworms alot better and it isent exspencive at all only £4.99 you should be able to pick it up from the pet shop, but make sure you go to a reptile place because somewhere like pets at home i dout will have it Very Happy hope that helps a bit

:/ I don't understand why she has them or why she is slightly overweight..

I feed her everything I've been recommended for a leo her age. She gets 2 morioworms every other day..but sometimes only eats one. She gets a varied diet.. I used to feed her too many waxworms before I understood about their sugar and fatty content.. soo now she gets about two a month. I'm pretty sure it's not excess protein causing the bubbles.. because they are decreasing now that I don't dust the livefood as much.. soo I must be definetly the calcium because her protein intake is as recommended by many people. I've also heard that different leos can have different metabolisms and store more fat than others...

I'm going to cut down her morioworms.. so that I feed 1 morioworm, 2 morioworms, 1 morioworm, 2 morioworms.. just to be sure.

It could be down to her active-ness.
She could be putting on more than she is burning off.

Try taking her out for some arounds or something once day, for a bit more excersize.

could you not do it on your bed or something, they love climbing up the covers, if you make it into a big mountain for them lol, they like hiding underneath and stuff too.
Obviously it would require supervision. But your a supervisor so... should be fine lol.
