winking gecko

Post by Pinned27 on Fri Mar 02, 2012 12:19 pm

Well i dont what to call it but sometimes my gecko will poke his head out from his hide and just chill there. Then his right eye will just slowly shut while his left one just says open. Both eyes seem healthy and they both easily open and close all the way. Maybe this is just one of those weird things he might do? Just want to be sure.

Edit: He also just pokes his head out and closes both eyes, just sometimes he does the one.

All of my leos do this as well. I'm not really sure why they do it, but from what I can tell its perfectly normal.

They aren't actually winking at me, but I pretend they are and I wink back LOL!

I don't for sure, but I think it's because they have a blind spot so by closing one eye they can see better. Just a guess.

I can get them to "wink" anytime by offering them food with tongs when they don't want any. They'll simply close an eye and look away. Funny creatures I tell ya Very Happy
