breakthrough Empty breakthrough

Post by wolfbane468 Sun Feb 05, 2012 7:49 am

tonight i had a breakthrough with cleo i decided to try the mealworms after a day of having them in the bowl and her not knowing they were there i decided to put on right to the enterance i=of her hide and with it being warm the mealie was wiggling and walking and she went absolutly crazy chomped it down like a crazy fool then i put another just infront of her nose and she chomped that one to. so inspired i dropeed 2 more round her viv and she went roaming round to find them. while on the other side of th viv i introduced my hand by her house a little across so she had the option of going home or exploring my hand, she stalked across as if to et me like a worm but just cruised past slowly and went home but no screaching no biting and as soon a si dropped a melie in and closed the lid she was out and eating again.

so so so happy

Yay! Congrats on getting her to eat! And it sounds like she is going to become more used to use, especially as she realizes you=food :P

If you want to try and dish train her (I like to hand feed and watch) then next time slowly drop mealies getting closer to the dish, leading her to it. Then begin dropping them in making sure she sees it. Eventually she will go to the bowl and see if there's any available! Smile

my cleo is a clever one i moved the bowl si its nearly on the warm side just enough to warm the bowl a little thus making the mealies active she climbded on her house spotted them in the bowl and attacked she is now permanentrly poking her head out her bowl watching for food

Thats great pete, keep up the good work. I was always too much of a chicken to do the let them walk on you slow introduction thing, I just went right in and picked him up. He learned I was no threat and accepted it just fine, but good for you that your leo is being receptive to walking on you. thumbs up 2
