Stirofoam Naturalist Hides for Leo's
I am planning on making a stirofaom terrarium basically. The bottom will be a ground with holes cut for the caves and the top will be shallow cut on the bottom to go over the holes to create a cave feel. The stirofaom will probobly be like 2 inches in width so that if i get 2 inches in the bottom and 1 in the middle then 2 for the top it couldd make a nice sized csve. Two peices will come together as top and bottom and it will have a little cave tunnel for entering and exiting the cave hide. This is going to go in a 30 tall and will have some sort of taller hide so the leo could feel could feel content when inside. I will be puting this in the show off your terrarium section, but i need to know what kind of paint is safe for a leo. Would regular non toxic acrylic based paint be safe or would it be unsafe?

Regardless of what paint you use, which I recommend sanded grout from a DIY store, put a couple of coats of hodge Podge or watered down PVA glue on it to seal it up tight.

There's a thread in the diy section where karrigain takes you step by step thru every bit of making styrofoam decor for your leos viv. Make sure you just post the final set up in the show off your set up thead. If you want to show the process that would go in the diy frum.

I wouldnt really recommended PVA. If you ever clean your viv, you will need to re-seal it as it does come off (and it comes off lumpy and gooey) this happened the other day with the hide I made and I had to clean it because it has become a poo house :P

Clear Floor vanish is what is usually used by people who build stuff like this. I did a lot of research into this before building mine and an old forum I used to use was pretty good with guides and examples
