When using sand to fill in grout lines in between tiles the key is to use a small bit brushed in then mist with water to pack it down, then add more sand, mist again... and so on until you've reached the surface of the tile and your groutline is flush with it. Some sand will get scratched out of the lines but with regular misting the next couple weeks while the tiles settle should prevent it from happening too much.

Regards Bearded Dragons (I know slightly off topic but I saw you mention them earlier) Magda my Bearded Dragon has sandstone slabs for the majority of the substrate with an area of sand at one end for her to dig in. The sand stone slabs not only mimic the hard desert floor but also help keep her claws in trim Smile
I think you have done a brilliant job of banana's tank.

I use butcher paper for my bearded dragon and the claws are getting long... i might consider some the sandstone tile. I'd rather do that than have to clip his toe nails lol.
