LGF Points...earning suggestion!

I've been lurking through Youtube videos lately and have been noticing "contest entry" videos for their Leopard Geckos for other forums...and I thought it would be a really neat and fun idea!

I suggest that we have another monthly contest along with the POTM contest...but with a video instead! The videos can be theme based as well...a few examples:

- Drama Queen: Geckos doing cute or silly things when they know it's feeding time.
- Cool Morphs: A brief video on your gecko and explaining what morph it is and something cool about its pattern.
- Feeding Time: A video of your leo munching on its favorite food or snack.
- Sleepy-Time: A video catching your leo in mid-yawn or nodding off.

Only one video entry per contest...using LGF points to enter a second video just like the POTM. Same voting system as the POTM as well.

Rule: Must include an introduction in the bottom of the video or in the video explaining that you are entering your leo for the LeopardGeckoForum.com...that way if anyone else lurks through the leo videos like I do, they might get curious and check out our forum!

What do you guys thing?

EDIT: Also, there would be a time limit per video, of course...maybe 1-2 minutes maximum?

Its a really great idea, i really like it.

HOWEVER, i'm gonna pass the buck to Sarah on this one (if thats alright with her)
She deals with Competition section , the POTM and stuff.

There is a section where you can actually host your own competitions, so maybe you can actually be the host and runner of this great competition idea.
If you contact Sarah (gothicgurrrl) you can discuss with her, sorting out this competitoin in the other competition section. She will help you figure out how to run it, and what the prize will be for the winner. (probably LGF Points will be thebest idea)

So i wish you luck. Its a really great idea.

I sent Sarah a PM regarding this thread. For the prizes, I think LGF points will be the way to go!

But...maybe we can also do a cumulative prize on top of the LGF points! Like badges for people who win the VOTM competition at least 5 times maybe gets a bronze tag that says "VOTM Bronze Winner". Then maybe 10 times for silver, and 20 times for gold. Something fun like that?

Sarah will fully discuss prizes with you i believe, she knows all about the comps and stuff. I think a badge is always nice, members always wanted badges to show off.

Of course, another thing to discuss with Sarah will be adding the winning video's onto our LGF Facebook Page. Because Sarah manages the facebook page too.

I actually suggested this to sarah last week after the quiz in chat, and she does have video contests planned for upcoming holidays. See that... great minds think alike

WOOOOO! it's great you did a really awesome job!! If it gets busy, i think we should actually create a forum section for it like the POTM
