Proper diet
Hello, I am trying to figure out the proper ratio of crickets, super worms and wax worms to feed the gecko. It probably depends on the age of the gecko, which I do not know, it looks about 5 to 6 inches long. I just need some guidance, I know what they eat, but not how much to feed it. Thank you for your help.

Re: Proper diet
If the leo you're asking about is the one in your avatar that leo looks about 5-7 months old. I don't feed crickets but from what I've seen from those that do is they feed about 4-6 adult crix for a leo that age. I was feeding my male about 4-5 superworms 3x a week with a snack of 3-4 mealies on sunday. Now that he is a a year old he is eating 2-4 supers 3x a week. A meal solely of mealies you could easily go thru 10-15 mealies a feeding. Wax worms should be used sparingly as a treat or reward for doing something unpleasant like tolerating a soak or handling. Maybe 1-2 a week at most or your leo could refuse other food Until you give in and give more waxies. Make sure you get your crix from a reliable source and they come from a clean environment or you could risk a parasite issue for your leo.
Re: Proper diet
I feed crix as a "hunting" treat for my leos and they usually manage 4 or 5 of them. I like watching them have the opportunity to follow their instincts and hunt.
Re: Proper diet
hahaha my leo gets soo excited when she sees a morioworm/superworm.. she stares at them.. and kinda starts chasing them.. then NOM! they are gone!
Re: Proper diet
If your gonna feed solely crickets as a meal, then about 4 - 5 each feeding.
if your feeding solely supers then about 3 - 4 each feeding.
if your feedng solely mealworms, then about 10 - 15 each feeding.
If your planing on doing a mixture each feeding then its just sort of common sense trying to figure it out, you could do like 1 super 2 crickets and 5 mealworms or something. With hatchlings though, we tend to stuff em til htye cant eat no more lol.

Re: Proper diet
Yes, I vary their diet quite a bit and find that some don't like supers....some don't like meals and so on. You will find that each one eats differently and just to go with it as long as they are not getting "fat".
EDIT* I hope this doesn't sound like I am disagreeing with Jordan, not quite myself today. What I meant is within those boundaries that Jordan posted about.*
