Re: First Gecko, Morph help?
First thing's first just to be safe take him off of that substrate if acciddently injested it could cause impaction of the intestines. That and sand. Tile or repti carpet is the best way to go. BTW welcome to the forum. Yes he is looking like some sort of super hypo but that is'nt really a morph it is a trait that means no spotting on the back. It also looks like he has a tail kink, i think that is the cutest little deformity. LOL i think it makes them "special". Either way some of the other more experianced people on here have better help with the whole morph identification topic.

Re: First Gecko, Morph help?
Thank you for the information (:
He is already off that substrate, he is on carpet now, the pictures are from a couple days ago when I brought him home. I got his entire set-up for $50, thats inclding tank, lights, dishes, and cover, and I got him free because I work at a pet store and the owner didnt want to sell him with a kinked tail. (We have very, very few reptiles)
So now he is in a bigger home, temperatures are 86 in the day and 77 at night and his basking spot is 93. His tail was "supposedly" regenerated, but it still looks like a normal tail to me.

Re: First Gecko, Morph help?
Well, if you'll take a look at the proper housing thread in the housing section; that'd be great.
You really need a warm side of about 93F, and you don't need to drop the temps at night. His tail is not regenerated, thankfully, it is, like your boss(?) said, just kinked .
As for the carpet, it's pretty hard to completely sanitize so I personally recommend paper towels as substrate. Its easy, cheap, and great when it comes to heating.
Just a side note, by lights and basking spot it sounds like you were given a heat bulb of some sort. Leo's need belly heat to help digest their food, so ditching the bulbs in favor of an under tank heater (UTH) would be a great upgrade.

Re: First Gecko, Morph help?
I will think about maybe switching for paper towels in the future, but the tank he is in now is an in wall, so everyone that visits can see him and the carpet is a little more pleasing on the eye.
Thank you for the tip on not having to drop the temperature at night, i've had Beardies and Uromastxy that both needed the temperature dropped so I guess it was just assuming.
He does have an under tank heater on one side, and the light is a ceramic heat emmiter, I live in Canada so it can get cold and I needed the extra heat for him, I just call it a light because its in a clamp lamp. (:

Re: First Gecko, Morph help?
Welcome to the forum, Tyson! I am a fellow Canadian, but I'm in Ontario. :P
Looks like you have a super hypo tangerine. But have someone else confirm that. :P
It looks like he has stuck shed on his nose, if that hasn't come off I would get a Q-tip with warm water on the end and gently rub the skin off.
As Kodie said, you need a warm side and a cool side. The under tank heater should cover 1/3rd of the tank floor, and should be between 88*-95*. The cold side should be in the high 70s. Make sure to measure the floor temp, not the air temp using a probe thermometer.
Tiling is another option for flooring. I personally love tiling as it looks pretty natural if you use one with a good pattern on it. You can use ceramic, peel-n-stick, slate etc.
