It was only a matter of time...
...before she shed. Yup! Echidna just shed today and as I predicted, she reopened her nip wound from her sibling before I got her. At least I got to see how bad it was...which it's not too bad but it needed a little TLC since it dried and pinched the surrounding skin together.
So I cleaned/sanitized her tank and I gave her a nice diluted betadine solution bath, gave her a clean rinse bath, dried her wound area/leg area with a q-tip and used a sterile q-tip to apply a small amount of neosporin (not maximum strength). So far it's looking pretty good.
Before when it was crinkled up with skin and dried up:
Now after a shed (looks a little red from gently working the stuck skin apart):
(looks like her sibling got her pretty good...should be all cleared up in a few more sheds )
Wish Echidna luck in recovering without a horrible scar!

That's looking really good cerra, keep up the good work and I'm sure she'll heal without any scarring
Re: It was only a matter of time...
It looks really good, in my opinion! It sounds like you are taking a really great job with it!
When my leo, Mya, had a cut, I washed it daily with a wet q-tip and changed the paper towel in her tank daily. It speeded up the healing process imo, and she has no scar at all. So I'd wash her cut everyday with a q-tip to see if that helps.
Good luck!

Woah! Either she shed again or her scab built up over a day's time. Anyway, with another betadine bath and quick swabbing, the scab came off to reveal a nicely healed patch. It's not open either...made sure by dabbing some diluted hydrogen peroxide mixed with betadine on it and it didn't foam up. Here's the even more "healed" nip wound with a little bit of neosporin on it to ensure it's completely clean.
The only problem I have now is her sleeping on her feces -_-; I clean it out daily every time I wake up but she insists on going in her warm hide and sleeping on top of it right after she goes...it makes her smell bad too.

Re: It was only a matter of time...
My leo used to sleep where she had gone to the toilet aswell ( in her moist hide ) I was using sphagnum moss at the time so I changed it over to loo roll and she stopped sleeping in there although she still uses her mosit hide as a toilet so she has two now. one for shedding and another for her litter tray
