warm side too warm??
So i've head my gecko for about 2 weeks now.. he was very skiddish, and still is he will climb on to my hand if i put it in the viv but i havent tried to pick him up or anything yet...
He stays under his warm side hid most of the time he is active when im not in my room or at night when the lights off when its quiet..
Here latley well yesterday and today, he has been very active now thermometer says 92. He comes out and lays down in front of his hide with his head on the water dish. then hell go into his hide and lick the paper towel where its wet?? my question is....is he coming out because hes more active hes getting more comfy, or is he hot?

Actually 92 is a pretty good temperature. They could be anywhere between 90 and 98 or so. He may be more active because he is at the right temperature. As for licking the papertowel, some leos do not like to drink from water dishes do they get the moisture they require from their moist hide. If this is the case with your leo please try to remember to keep your moist hide nice and moist for him.

I agree... keep the moist hide moist unless its sphagnum moss or loose substrait, he mayh eat it, I've heard of it happening. Eros isn't a huge fan of dishes but I also mist his tank lighly every few days esp. The walls and rocks, not so much the floor tho. He really seems enjoying licking it off rocks. Maybe take a baseball sized rock and et it on a lid from an oats container and you can ist that daily for him insted of a bowl, the lid will catch runoff from the rock and act like a shallow puddle insted of a bowl. I have however noticed eros uses his "bowl" more now that I changed it from a brown ceramic soap dish to a tree stump looking bowl that's a lot smaller, yet deeper.
