Not laying eggs
Hey all, this is my 2nd yr breeding and for some reason the girls aren't laying eggs hardly at all. I have the temps right and they are well fed, have moist hides and plenty of space. it's just been real inconsistent. The Hova bator temp is around 82-85'. I hatched several last yr but this yr only 2 so far. Any Ideas?? Thanks Ken

Re: Not laying eggs
Hi Ken. Welcome to the forum.
The main cause which can prevent leo's laying their eggs is stress. Maybe a constantly breeding male left in with them, maybe a lot of noise in the room they are kept, bright lights, stressful substrate etc..
Of course the obvious ones are, they need to be ovulating and they need to be old enough and ready.
I would also recommend filling out our health questionnaire to help us gain a better understanding of your housing and husbandry, which will allow us to give a better answer.

Re: Not laying eggs
Hi again Ken, i haven't recieved a PM from you. Check your outbox and sentbox to make sure it has sent alright.
Also, it would be better if you posted the questionnaire in this thread, so all the membership will be able to help you.

Re: Not laying eggs
I think that it's probably stress as Jordan said.
That can be the cause of quite a few things.

Re: Not laying eggs
I did move some of my leos to different aquariums but there is nothing else that could be causing any stress. They are in my office where there is very little activity other than me coming in and out. I don't mess with them during the day, I keep it fairly dark. The only thing I did change is I added "Herptivite" to the calcium.

Re: Not laying eggs
Is there very much light at all? Sometimes an inconsistent day/night cycle can be bad.
